Patty's Heart Children's HomePatty's Heart Children's Home is located in western Kenya. Founded in 2011 by Pastors Ben and Jane Amwayi, the facility is home to 60+ children as well as providing an emergency refuge for children. Open Word's founder Reverend Sondra has sent several teams of volunteers over the years with facilities construction and educational training for the children.
Learn more at PattysHeartKenya.org HIBA Sponsorship Open Word Ministries has a support program for impoverished Kenyan pastors-- the "Hiba Fund." Hiba is the Swahili word for "gift given in love." National pastors can more effectively reach and evangelize the people in their countries. God powerfully uses missionaries from other countries to minister, but national pastors can dedicate 100% of their time to evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. They don't have to learn a language or raise consistent monthly support. 
Abigail's Hope
Abigail's Hope is now located in Nairobi, Kenya. Founded in the USA in 2020, its mission was to help women and children who are in domestic violent relationships by providing guidance, and counseling. Since our move to Kenya, we hope to provide housing in the future for those living in domestic violent homes, as well as guidance and counseling. Please pray for guidance as we endeavor to build housing and to develop job skill training for these women. May 2026 Kenya Missions trip
Open Word Ministries will be taking 20 plus team members to Mombasa, Kenya for a four day eye clinic, school outreach, and pastors'/leaders' conferences. While we have previously provided training in the Mombasa area, this will be the first wide scale outreach. In addition, Abigail's Hope ministries will be providing a sewing training day and health information day. Many women and teens are unable to work or attend school due to lack of menstrual products and sanitary conditions. Women from the Nairobi area will learn how to make menstrual kits for themselves. Prayerfully, this will become a future source of income for Abigail's Hope's guests.
